Singapore, 17 February 2010 – SecureAge Technology, a leading provider in data encryption solutions, application security solutions, and security appliances announced today the appointment of ACW Distribution (S) Pte Ltd (“ACW”), a leading IT enterprise solutions provider in Asia, as its distributor in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. ACW will distribute and market through its extensive reseller channel networks in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, SecureAge Technology’s line of encryption and secure remote access products and solutions to help organizations enhance security and to protect corporate digital assets.

According to an annual study conducted by the Ponemon Institute LLC, in 2009, the cost of a data breach increased for the fifth straight year to more than $200 per compromised record, but a number of factors, including an increase in the use of data breach consulting services and the experience gained from handling previous breaches, are slowing expense increases. Amongst which many of the breaches were associated with endpoint breaches such as lost laptops and USB drives (40%) while system errors and account statement mix-ups (36%) also contributed to company data breaches.
