Singapore, 26 August 2004 - SecureAge Technology officially launched the clientless and easy-to-deploy SecureAge® SV3000 SSL VPN (Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network) today. SecureAge® SV3000 is developed with a powerful technology that protects it against the single most serious security weakness that plaque other software and network appliances - buffer overflow. It leverages on the well-established SSL and TLS (Transport Layer Security) technology to give organizations the most robust and integrated remote access security solution. Their employees, business partners and customers can securely access the required applications, data, information and files anytime and anywhere, even if they are not within the office network environment.

SecureAge® SV3000 supports unlimited key length RSA algorithm, 168-bit Triple-DES, and 256-bit AES encryption that will resist any possible brute force attack and ensure transmitted confidential data to be highly secured. It also provides the option of defining the server’s acceptance of only those clients that support cryptographic algorithms with stronger security strength. During negotiation, if the client is found to support only cryptographic algorithms with weaker security strength, the server will reject its access.

Apart from default browser based SSL engine, SecureAge® SV3000 also supports customized SSL engine with more powerful encryption algorithms. This is an ideal feature for government regulators or other organizations that need to transmit highly secretive and confidential data over the enterprise network. To further boost the security strength of their remote access, they can choose to add their own, fully-develop proprietary encryption algorithms to the SecureAge® SV3000 SSL engine, together with or without the standard encryption algorithms.

SecureAge® SV3000 provides dynamic certificate authentication mechanism to identify those users who are connected to the SSL server with its easy configurable SSL security scheme. It gives organizations the flexibility in defining and configuring the different levels of SSL security scheme for different users’ profile or groups. They can effortlessly define user certificate authentication only for highly sensitive applications and information access, and allow the use of user ID and password for accessing less critical applications. Hence, with SecureAge® SV3000, organizations no longer need to deploy extended SSL security scheme to authenticate both the users and the servers with digital certificates. Such authentication scheme is impractical for SSL usage since it requires every remote user, even including partners and customers, to possess a digital certificate in order to establish a secure SSL connection to the enterprise network. It can become very complicated especially when the network environment of the partners and customers are beyond their control.

Built in with high availability (HA) and failover features, SecureAge® SV3000 ensures uninterrupted VPN access to the enterprise network. State information and data files are automatically replicated between a pair of SV3000 appliances. If the primary appliance fails, the lost sessions will be automatically re-established by the backup appliance. It saves organizations’ remote users, customers and partners the trouble of re-connecting all over again and can enjoy incessant access to the enterprise network at peace.
