SecureAge Component Object Model (COM):
Addressing Specific File Encryption Needs

 

SecureAge COM (Component Object Model) API is a set of application programming interfaces (API) that allows developer access to the SecureAge platform and add PKI-based security and embed SecureAge services such as file encryption in their own application.

 

How Does it Work?


SecureAge COM API is based on Windows COM interface. The Application calling the APIs can be developed in any programming language (i.e. Visual Basic or C++) that can interface with COM.

Developers can create an application that calls the data security APIs to add security to the application data. The security configurations can then be set based on company policy and requirements.

How are User Keys and Certificates Managed?


The user’s keys and certificates are managed within the certificate store of the SecureAge Client software.

Developers can create an application that calls the API to perform an LDAP search for a user’s certificate, download the required certificate not found in the certificate store, and validate the certificate.
